Colossians Chapter 1

Colossians 1:6
This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace. (NLT)

Colossians 1:9-10
So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. (NLT)

Colossians 1:11
We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy… (NLT)

Colossians 1:13-14
For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins. (NLT)

Colossians 1:15
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation. (NLT)

Colossians Chapter 2

Colossians 2:6-7
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. (NIV)

Colossians 2:12
For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. (NLT)

Colossians Chapter 3

Colossians 3:2
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (NIV)

Colossians 3:12-14
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity (NIV)

Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (NIV)

Colossians 3:16
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. (NLT)

Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (NIV)

Colossians 3:20
Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord. (NLT)

Colossians 3:23
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. (NLT)

Colossians 4:2
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (NIV)

Colossians 4:6
Let your conversation be gracious and attractive[a] so that you will have the right response for everyone. (NLT)

Scripture for Kids

The more we immerse our kids in scripture the better. The days pass so quickly. We look back occasionally and wonder where the time went, and I question whether I spent it wisely. Every opportunity to encourage my kids (and myself) to read, write, and reflect on scripture is an opportunity to hide his word in our hearts and we know that he will use it. Have your kids read the scripture out loud while they color. Or use music to help instill the words using rhythm or rhyme. Here are a few music videos that you can use with these scriptures from Colossians.

Put on Love – Colossians 3:12-17 (YouTube – Lantern Music)

Colossians 3:23 (YouTube – Awana)

A dominant theme in the book of Colossians is the message that Jesus Christ is supreme over all creation, all rulers, and all powers. I hope these coloring pages encourage your family to think about the necessity of making Christ the supreme ruler in our own lives in a very personal way.
