Letter Activities
- Identify the letter O: look for O in books and on signs
- Color, stamp, or decorate the letter O (download a free printable HERE)
- Practice writing the letter O (download a free printable for letters O and P HERE)
- Go on a letter sound hunt around the house (look for items that start with the letter of the week)
- Look at a picture dictionary and talk about words that start with O

Number Activities
- Counting practice
- Practice identifying and writing the number 12 (download a free printable HERE)
- Use orange slices to count to 12
- One dozen donuts = 12 (in the shape of an O!)
SHAPE AND COLOR ACTIVITIES
- Practice drawing and coloring hearts (download a free printable HERE)
- Use your favorite color crayons, colored pencils, or markers to trace and color this week.
- Fold paper in half and draw half a heart. Have your child practice cutting on the line. Open to reveal a heart shape!
Letter “O” and Ocean Theme Activities
- Make an obstacle course for gross motor skill development
- Hold a Family Olympics (read “How to Hold a Family Olympics” for ideas and a free event planning template)
- Set up a play office (desk, phone, computer, files, clipboard, etc.)
- Make a sensory bin with sand. Fill with shells and ocean toys: have your child add water incrementally with a dropper or pour from a small container like a spice jar and play in the sand.
- Use shells for counting and sorting activities
- Look for OPEN signs everywhere you go
- Talk and read about opposites
