It’s that time of year, and we’re all scrambling to find the perfect gifts, hoping to check off our gift lists early for once. If you have a mom, sister, friend or co-worker who adores agendas, is charmed by checklists and can’t resist a reading list, I’ve got you covered with this gift guide for list lovers! Read on for suggestions to delight your organization-obsessed friends, with unique and fun gift ideas they are sure to love.
Don’t be surprised if you find yourself sing-songing “one for you, one for me” as you peruse this gift guide. I’m drooling over all the items listed here, and I really think I can pull off an Oscar-worthy “surprised” look when I open a gift-wrapped notebook my husband had my 10-year old wrap for me. You’ve got lots of time to practice your surprised face before Christmas. 🙂

Planners & Notebooks
First up, a place to keep all those lists. I love my Notes app and Google calendar as much as the next girl, but there’s something unbeatably satisfying about physically crossing an item off my list. Us list lovers need pretty places to write our lists, and these planners and notebooks fill the bill.
List Notepads
Sometimes you really need a stand-alone list. A honey-do list, a do this while I’m gone list for your focus-deficient teen. These tear-off notepads are the perfect solution to a list you plan to give to someone else, or you want to be able to post on a fridge or bulletin board. I’m not opposed to the standard 12-pack of themed monthly lists that magnet to the fridge. I have some of those myself. But these notepads are something special. Beautiful design always motivates me to get all the things done! You, too? Check these out…
Boring Household List Stuff that I Guess You Really Need
Ok, here’s my dirty little secret. I love organized spaces and well-managed calendars, but I much prefer creating the systems for cleaning and shopping than actually doing the cleaning and shopping. Too bad my family wants to eat three times a day…and off clean plates no less. Here are some lists that will help organize the stuff no one wants to do, but if we have to, we want to check it off a super cute list.
Pretty Pens
Is it just me, or do you get a thrill out of finding a pen that looks amazing, writes smoothly, and feels nice in your hand? If you’re a daily list-maker like me, you know that the perfect pen is an elusive unicorn. Here are a few that are on my wish list this year.
After you’ve written all those lists with your pretty pens, you need highlighters to remind yourself of which tasks are priority #1 and Sharpies to cross off all those task items you’ve completed. No judgment if you write in tasks after you’ve done them just to savor the satisfaction of crossing them off your list!
List Making Accessories
If you’ve been making lists for 40-plus years like I have, you know there are a few things that make life just that little bit better. I’m talking about the functional, but pretty, accessories that make list-making possible on any old surface you choose.
Books to Inspire
These books will inspire your little list-loving heart to create a to-do list, a priorities list, a morning routine list, or a movies to watch list. For the book-loving list maker, here are a few of my favorites.
