May Birthstone
May’s birthstone is emerald, a beautiful green gemstone. The emerald has been associated with inspiration, patience, and calming properties.
Emeralds were a favorite of the Egyptian queen Cleopatra, and of ancient Egyptians in general. Seattle has been nicknamed, “The Emerald City,” due to its lush green landscapes.
May Flower
The birth flower associated with May is lily of the valley. This flower isn’t actually a lily at all, but a member of the asparagus family. It is a perennial flower with dainty bell-shaped flowers, usually white.
