June Birthstone
The birthstone most associated with June is the pearl, known in its iridescent white form, but available in a variety of colors.
Naturally occurring pearls are created in mollusks (clams, oysters, mussels) when an irritant gets inside the shell and the mollusk creates a coating in response.
June Flower
The birth flower associated with June is the rose. This classic flower has long been associated with love and affection and comes in a variety of colors, each of which has a different meaning. Typically red symbolizes love, pink stands for admiration, orange for excitement, and yellow for happiness.
It’s believed that roses were cultivated 5000 years ago in China.
A secondary June birth flower is the honeysuckle, a woody climbing vine.
